Nene Tamayo: A Proud Daughter of Romblon


Romblon is not only renowned for its bountiful mines of marble and other minerals. It is not also a home of amazing tourists spots wherein people can enjoy their summer breaks. Romblon is also famous for its products in the showbiz industry.

Nene Tamayo is a proud daughter of Romblon. She was one of the housemates in the famous Bahay ni Kuya in the show Pinoy Big Brother Season 1. Not only a housemate, Nene became the Big Winner after spending 111 days inside the house. She had gathered 554,906 votes or 48.9% of total votes in the Big Night held at Clark Expo Ampitheater, Angeles City, Pampanga on December 10, 2005.

Proud Rombloanon

Nene Tamayo, Jennivev Santillan Tamayo in real life, was born on September 27, 1981 in Magsaysay, Santa Fe, Romblon. She is famous because of her toughness inside the house that even her male housemates were impressed with her abilities. She was once an ROTC officer at the University of the East which made her tough even more. That led her to the title Kumander Nene (Commander Nene).

Life in the Show Business

After being hailed as the Big Winner in the PBB house, Nene tried the show business and eventually awarded as 2005 Pipol of the Year, wherein he defeated Manny Pacquiao in the Sports and Entertainment Category.

She also became a finalist in the ABS-CBN show U Can Dance wherein she showed her dancing skills in front of the camera.

Nene is currently a part of ABS-CBN’s circle of artists, the Star Magic.
